Running Free

Emma ran, her sneakers making soft thuds as her feet landed. Not running for any reason, just because she could. Running to keep fit, to relax and forget and yet she felt so alive. The stress of the past few weeks forgotten, she ran to the song blasting in her ears. She leapt onto a fallen log and jumped off the other side her pace slowing to a fast walk as she rubbed a cramp. She took a mouthful of water from the bottle that she held, and stretched. It was nice to be alone, with all the hubbub of school at the back of her mind. Between school, magic and getting kidnapped by witch hunters. It was nice to be outside, just to run free.

Slush was having a fun time playing with his master. He had relieved himself a while ago, and now wanted to play. He had been stuffed in his master's jacket for too long. It was cozy enough, and Slush had slept, but now he wanted to play. So he had raced off into the forest as quickly as his little paws could take him, and hide. But now he was getting bored, and the forest was full of strange sounds and smells, and he was ready to be with his master again, but his master hadn't found him. Where could his master be, he thought to himself as he tried to sniff around, but all he could smell was pine, and earth, so he laid down, head resting on his front paws. Maybe if he waited master would find him.

It wasn't long before he heard something running by him near by, and didn't master make the same sound when he ran.

thudum thudum thudem....

It had to be master, so Slush was on his feet and racing to catch up to his master. It wasn't until he was a couple of feet away that he realized the smell was different, and the thing on two feet that was running in front of him was not his master. But maybe she knew where master was or could take Slush to him, so he put a little more strength in his run as he struggled to catch up, running along side the human female, yapping and barking, trying to get its attention.

OOC:Puppy power!!!....hope you don't mind...thought it give my character reason to interact with more people.

Emma frowned, hearing something over her music, like a yapping sound and slowed down comming to a halt, yanking the headphones out her ears. That was when she saw the puppy bounding towards her. Oh how cute! She dropped into a crouch, holding her hand out to the puppy to sniff. "Come on, I wont hurt you," she called gently. "Where is your owner?" she looked around over her shoulder. She hadn't seen anyone for hours.

Slush has stopped and jumped back when she has stopped running, lowering his front half so he looked ready to pounce, tail wagging and tongue out. And when she held out hand her hand, lowered himself and crawled toward her hand giving it a sniff. She did smell good. He gave a small bark before running into her hand and then bolting forward, tangling himself in her legs and arms. Maybe she could help find his master, maybe give him a treat. He gave another playful bark before giving himself over to the petting he knew was gonna be getting.

As the puppy ran into her, Emma fell back onto her bottem, laughing as she did. It felt good to laugh again. She scratched the puppy behind the ear, and stroaked him, all the time to him. "I wonder where your owner is," she said, stroking the dog. "C'mon, lets go see if we can find them," she clicked her tounge and patted her thigh, indicating for the puppy to follow.
